The last few years have been an up and down challenge for me. When Josh lost his teaching job and we had to search for a new life somewhere other than where we had started building in Oregon I took to exercise to take control of my life again. That's where this blog really started and the counting each day in recognition of a healthy choice I had made.
I loved doing that, but eventually got bored of it and stopped posting. I still kept my Instagram account running and even made it to Day 101. It was frustrating because I was going to the gym consistently, eating healthier than I ever had and I still wasn't making any strides in my health goals. Josh and I started seeing a naturopath and that's when things really started to change for me.

"I can't tell you enough how frustrating it is to exercise and make healthy decisions day in and day out for years (3+) with really no results. The first three photos I never got below 160 lbs. I just couldn't. I eventually gave up because why bother when nothing was happening?!? On December 9th, 2014 Josh and I decided to go to a doctor to help us get healthy (finally!) So we went to a naturopath in Cheyenne who specializes in Nutritional Kinesiology. In that fourth photo, taken 55 days later, I'm officially free of 12 pounds and can finally see the muscle I've always known was there, but which had been hiding under fat! I'm incredibly motivated to keep going in order to reach my goal weight! If you're struggling, check in with a doctor. Make sure your digestion is operating like it should! That was a big piece of my problem!"
Today Facebook gave me a reminder of this:
"I weigh less today than I did when I met Josh in 2009! BOOM BABY! 146.5 lbs!"
There's a harsh truth. Somewhere along the way I got distracted and completely fell off the health train. I stopped working out and my meals started getting all sorts of naughty.
Well here we are, a year later, and I'm still battling my weight, psoriasis, and food goals. I've started a new adventure with BeachBody Fitness Coaching as a way to get myself taken care of. That's my goal - to work on me. Maybe I can inspire others to work on them, too, but I'm not worried about that. It's time I start over... again. And this time I'm going to take control and win.
I really need to point out, though, that this last year has been a year of tremendous growth for me as an individual. I've reclaimed a lost dream and am working every day toward achieving it. I conquered a lifelong dream by becoming published with my first novel, and I'm becoming stronger in who I am as a person. I'm loving me. It's been a productive, beautiful year and I'm looking forward to all the progress I will make starting today in who I will become.
Best wishes to all!

I'm so excited for you! You always inspire me to reignite the fire I've lost. I've been a little lukewarm on the exercise lately, and have completely fallen off the wagon on Whole30-esque eating. I'll be watching you on this and following you if I can. I need a buddy on this too! Which BeachBody thing are you doing? I have one of the dance programs that I might start up again. Love you, wifey!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting with the 21 Day Fix program. It just shipped today and I can't wait to get it started! In the meantime I'm following a few 30 Day Challenges for arms, legs, and abs. It'll be a good warm up for what's to come! lol Pray for me!! I signed up to be a BeachBody Coach to really keep me motivated and on track. Thanks for following along. We can do this together! Love you, dearest Wife of mine!
