Day 2: The Definition of Futility

Well we got hit with a wet snow storm yesterday... a really wet snow storm. The kind that melts right away, but then freezes and lets the other snow stick and creates heavy, slushy, gross snow.

Don't get me wrong, I love the snow! I love love love the snow.... especially when it gives us snow days from work. But not this snow. Not slush falling from the sky. That's just a Wyoming Sprinter for you, though, so best get used to it.

We were let out of work an hour early yesterday because of the weather and so, like the amazing adult that I am (and so that I don't get fined by the city) I went straight from my car to my snow shovel and started clearing the sidewalk.

It. Was. Brutal.

But I ended with a smile because the whole time my fingers were suffering from numbing winds and cheap gloves I kept thinking "THIS is a killer work out."

So I kept smiling.

Here is the definition of futility: Shoveling snow while it's still snowing. Ugh. But needs must. Luckily, when I woke up this morning our sidewalks were beautifully clear of snow still. My aching muscles are ecstatic about it.

Although I spent an hour manually plowing heavy, wet snow I still stuck to my 30 day challenges! I'm pretty proud of myself for that, too. I reminded myself that this was extra exercise, not replacement exercise.

How's your spring coming along?
